Frequently bloggers take images from the web to use in their postings knowingly or unknowingly with the mistaken belief that it is right to use them. Most images posted on the web are copyrighted and you must have obtained approval from the holder of the copyright to use them.
Imagine a scenario where you have created a work i.e. a short story or an image. You are the author and you own it and you would not like someone to take your work to post it online or use it in any manner without your permission.
Although you may not use these copyrighted images, there are plenty of other online images available for use freely. You can get these public domain images from the web such as Wikipedia’s Wikimedia Commons or from links when you type in a search under “public domain images”. In doing so you would not be infringing the copyrights of other creators or authors.
